Information for your Christmas market visit

Current regulations regarding Corona

Dear visitors

we are very pleased to welcome you to the Aachen Christmas Market!

In order to make your visit as pleasant as possible, this page will always provide you with the latest information on the Corona regulations for your visit to the Aachen Christmas Market.

It goes without saying that all valid protective measures will be implemented on site to ensure compliance with all regulations resulting from the then currently valid version of the Corona Protection Ordinance. Should changes be made to this regulation, we will adapt the rules accordingly.

As things stand, the rules for the Aachen Christmas Market are as follows:

Masks are compulsory on the entire grounds of the Aachen Christmas Market, including in the outdoor area, and the 2G regulation applies.

For your visit, you will therefore need official proof of 2G (2G: recovered, vaccinated). You are obliged to carry proof of your immunisation status as well as proof of identity with a photo and to present this to the persons authorised to carry out checks on request. Random checks will be carried out on site.

Exempt from the 2G regulation are:

  • Persons for whom there is no vaccination recommendation by the STIKO, as long as they carry proof of a negative test (rapid antigen test not older than 24 hours or PCR test not older than 48 hours). There is a vaccination recommendation for pregnant women from the 2nd trimester onwards.
  • Persons who have a medical certificate stating that they cannot be vaccinated against Covid-19 for health reasons, provided they also have proof of a negative test (rapid antigen test not older than 24 hours or PCR test not older than 48 hours).
  • hildren and adolescents up to and including the age of 15 years.

Persons exempt from the 2G rule must also carry proof of identity with a photograph and present it to persons authorised to check on request.

The general AHA rules are still valid: Masks are compulsory in enclosed areas and wherever the minimum distance of 1.50m cannot be maintained (waiting areas, attractions, etc.). Likewise, the known hygiene rules and the minimum distance must be observed on the entire grounds of the Aachen Christmas Market.

Finally, a request: Please continue to abide by the rules at all times. Only if we look out for each other and treat each other with consideration and respect can we all enjoy a magical time at the Aachen Christmas Market. Thank you very much!
