Silent Nights – Sweet Printen. Images and traditions since the Biedermeier period
Until the 18th century, Christmas was a noisy, public festival. It was not until the Biedermeier era that it developed into a festival celebrated in contemplation and silence within the family circle. The exhibition focuses on Printen casts reminding us of times long bygone, oft Christmas traditions, luxuriant nativity scenes, historical Christmas tree decorations and children's toys.
