Tour of the throne without a guide

The Aachen Royal Throne is usually only accessible as part of a guided tour. On the second and third advent weekends, however, the doors to the Hochmünster open: the Aachen Cathedral Action Circle (AAD) and the Honorary Service allow interested visitors to take a look at this historically unique site with its 600-year-old coronation tradition over four days. In addition, a rare view from the organ gallery down into the choir hall is possible. Admission is 3 euros for adults and 1 euros for children (6 to 16 years). The proceeds go entirely to the preservation of the cathedral.
